Whether you have teens or toddlers, getting them to eat healthy or at all, is a struggle.
Kids of all ages can be picky eaters. Turning their noses up to all the things that may signal their brain that it could be good for them. Funny how that works huh?
Well, I have had my fair share of struggles with this topic and i’m here to give you a few tips that may help you keep your sanity and give your child more healthy options they may actually like.
Give A Variety Of Choices
Toddlers, in particular, can be stubborn and like to try and make their own decisions. So when it comes to food don’t be surprised that they don’t act any different. Giving options of healthy snacks can make them feel like they are the ones actually making the decision. Along with giving the options, also give them space to eat and do by themselves. Lead By Example
If you want your child to eat healthy, but you are chowing down on cookies and fried food, then they may not take you seriously. Kids look up to older siblings and adults, so showing that you yourself have healthy eating habits, will set the right example.
Get Them Involved
Kids love helping out! What better way to let them help than with cooking their own food. Giving kids small tasks like mixing an ingredient in a bowl or using a slat shaker, can really get them excited about the food they will eat. My son also loves to help me load things in the cart at the grocery and pick out certain items for dinner. When we get home he is eager to help cook and more likely to eat since he had a hand in it.
